  • Sign up July 26 for Emergency Medical First Responder Class

July 25, 2007: Chief Redwine reminds us that the sign-up day for the Emergency Medical First Responder class is July 26th at 6:00 PM at the Roane County Emergency Services Training Center. Note that applicants must be there at that date and time in order to be eligible. Read more of the original announcement in our July 10, 2007 News.

  • Sign Up Early for 2nd Annual Training Conference,
    Cookeville, October 6-7, 2007

July 25, 2007: An extensive curriculum of one- and two-day training classes will be held October 6-7, 2007, at the Avery Trace Middle School located at 270 Carlen Drive in Cookeville, Tennessee.

The conference is presented by the Upper Cumberland Regional Council of Fire Chiefs and the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Academy. The classes cost $25 per peron per day and run from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Central time, or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern, with the exception of the Fire Chief Development class, which runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central time, an extra half-hour each day.

Training classes offered include LPG Emergencies, Fire Streams, Tanker Operations, SCBA Using It, Ventilation, Aerial Operations, Survival Get out Alive, Electrical Emergencies, Vehicle Extrication, and Fire Chief Development.

In a phone interview today, conference contact Marvin Montgomery clarified the original conference flyer, stating that LPG Emergencies and Fire Streams are two independent one-day classes, even though they have the same course number and were confusingly misrepresented as combined two-day classes in the announcement document.

Sign up early with Chief Charlie Redwine. See our 2007 Training Schedule for more details.
