  • Coming Soon: 2nd Annual Training Conference,
    Cookeville, October 6-7, 2007

September 30, 2007: An extensive curriculum of one- and two-day training classes will be held October 6-7, 2007, at the Avery Trace Middle School located at 270 Carlen Drive in Cookeville, Tennessee.

The conference is presented by the Upper Cumberland Regional Council of Fire Chiefs and the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Academy. The classes cost $25 per person per day and run from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Central time, with the exception of the Fire Chief Development class, which runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central time, an extra half-hour each day.

Training classes offered include LPG Emergencies, Fire Streams, Tanker Operations, SCBA Using It, Ventilation, Aerial Operations, Survival Get out Alive, Electrical Emergencies, Vehicle Extrication, and Fire Chief Development.

In a phone interview today, conference contact Marvin Montgomery clarified the original conference flyer, stating that LPG Emergencies and Fire Streams are two independent one-day classes, even though they have the same course number and were confusingly misrepresented as combined two-day classes in the announcement document.

Sign up early with Chief Charlie Redwine. See our 2007 Training Schedule or contact Captain Brandon Burke for more details.

  • September 8 Work Day a Success

September 30, 2007: Our Inventory and Work Day on September 8 was a success. Work was split between Station No. 1 and the new Station No. 3.

Three volunteers stayed at Station No. 1 to work on inventory and clean-up; the rest worked on the plumbing for Station No. 3, which is now under construction.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who came out to make this day a success!
